Our Tai Chi classes focus on traditional teaching methods of the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. The art of Tai Chi is explored through a series of basic movements and exercises that are learned in a slow and rhythmic fashion.

The Three Pillars of Tai Chi
HEALTH
Slow and gentle movement of patterns or postures serve to promotes circulation, increase flexibility, and improves balance, joint mobility and respiration. The health aspects of training also include acupressure technique to assist in overcoming health challenges.
MEDITATION
By coordinating the mind with breathing techniques and body movements the student will quickly feel the meditative effects of Tai Chi. Tai Chi involves a process of conditioning and training to improve mental focus and relaxation during stressful situations.
MARTIAL ART
Tai Chi Chuan (Taijiquan) is translated to mean "The Grand Ultimate Fist." The students learn to use the skills and awareness of Center, Perimeter, and Root to "neutralize 10 thousand lbs. of force with 4 ounces of pressure." Utilizing the power of softness and circles self defense becomes natural.
